2010-08-30Altar Servers Training Sessions
Attention New and Retrurning Altar Servers!
The Altar Server Ministry is open to all youth in Grade 3 or above who have already made their First Communion. Altar Servers are scheduled from once to four times a month, depending on their family's Mass time. All interested in this opportunity to serve are asked to fill in a registration form which may be found in the Vestibule. The completed forms may be left in the Office or placed in the Sunday collection basket before August 27th (If possible).
All Altar Servers and those wishing to serve as Altar Servers are required to attend one of the following training/refresher sessions. Sign-up sheets are also available in the Vestibule.
Each session is restricted to just eight servers.
   Monday, August 30th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
   Tuesday, August 31st from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
   Thursday, September 9th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
   Friday, September 10th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
   Monday, September 13th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Note: Experienced Altar servers presently in High School are needed as training assistants and will be able to received volunteer service hours in exchange for their help.
2010-09-10A Pilgrimage to Cap de la Madeleine - September 10, 11 & 12, 2010
The Legion of Mary is organizing a Pilgrimage to Cap-de-la-Madeleine, with support from the Knights of Columbus, for the physically challenged, seniors, families with small children and able-bodied pilgrims who want to assist them.

2010-09-12Holy Redeemer Parish Annual Feast Day - September 12th, 2010
Our annual Parish Feast day is fast approaching. In addition to celebrating the 'Exaltation of the Cross' we take this time each year to reflect on the gifts that have been bestowed on our Community of Believers over the thirty some years of the existence of Holy Redeemer Parish.

2010-09-15Lectio Divina Talks - September 15th and October 20th, 2010
Come and learn about the ancient practice of Lectio Divina (Holy Reading). On Wednesday Sept 15th and Oct 20th following the 7:00 p.m. Mass.
Fr. Gregor Snedden, the rector of St. Luke's Anglican Church, will give a set of talks on lectio divina.
'In praying the Scriptures with lectio divina we approach in awe and wonder, with the intention of befriending the Word. We journey through the Word to meet Christ.'
2010-09-19Christian Initiation of Children at Holy Redeemer Parish
IMPORTANT INFORMATION BULLETIN
WHO: To Parents or Guardians of Children Grade 2 (or above) in the 2010-2011 school year.
WHAT: The preparation process for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the First Communion at Holy Redeemer Parish.
HOW: The Holy Redeemer Christian Initiation Team, Father Pierre and Deacon Paul welcome you to an information seminar designed to explain the process that will prepare you to lead and support your child in this critical phase in his/her faith journey of Christian Initiation.
WHY: When your child was baptized in the Catholic Church, you made the promise to raise your son or daughter in the practice of the faith. It is imperative that you, as parents and first teachers of your child, feel enabled and equipped to guide your son or daughter in their spiritual journey as you prepare your child for the next steps in their faith commitment.
WHERE: Holy Redeemer Parish 44 Rothesay Drive, Kanata
WHEN: This seminar will be offered:
Sunday, September 19th, 2010 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
OR
Monday, September 27th, 2010 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
It is necessary that you attend this seminar if you wish your child to celebrate their sacraments in 2011.
NOTE: You need only attend one of these sessions.
