Overview - Parish Pastoral and Parish Financial Council

Pastoral Council

The Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) is the principle leadership grouping of the parish. It is drawn from and by the parish community to unite with the pastor in the building up of the Body of Christ through discipleship and evangelization, focusing on the overall welfare of parishioners at all stages of their life's journey with the Lord. The PPC advises the pastor on the parish's spiritual policies and goals. It also guides and encourages the Parish's ministries and committees. Initiatives and activities over the past year included providing the pew cards when the new Roman Missal was introduced, developing policies and procedures for the use and rental of the parish hall and kitchen, making possible increased hours of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and providing advice on the selection of new missals for the weekday Mass.

Please feel free to contact any member if you have questions or comments that you would like to bring to the PPC's attention. The PPC usually meets after Mass on the second Wednesday of the month from September to June. Our meetings are open to all parishioners and we invite you to join us to see your Parish Pastoral Council in action!

Financial Council

The Parish Financial Council assists the pastor in the administration of the material goods of the parish. Every year, (this year on June 18th, 2014) at the Annual General meeting, a presentationis is made on the financial status of the Parish. Following are a few items that may be of interest to Parishioners. Total revenue collected in 2013: $749,935; total expenses: $735,631. During 2013 the parish hall and washrooms were refurbished with the emphasis on energy saving. All lights were replaced with high efficiency bulbs. The actual worship space lighting was also upgraded to the 28W bulbs with the view of saving energy. A new Audio Visual system was installed in the hall with a large screen that retracts into the ceiling. A new hot water tank was installed to give sufficient hot water for some of our main events such as the KofC breakfasts. These projects, completed before Christmas, cost just over $49000. As well, the mortgage was brought down from $487,282 to $394,071 with regular payments and an additional $70,000 taken from available savings in 2013. At the beginning of 2013 your council set a budget that was followed.

As many of you know we lost our Chairperson, Ray Fournier, on the 28th of November 2013. As your new chairperson I thank you for your generosity. Your prayers and continued support are appreciated.
