As many of you know, the province of Ontario has given permission for churches to open to 15% beginning this Friday, June 11th. This is wonderful news! Many of you are eager to return to mass! If you’d like to attend mass in person, please do so through our website beginning Thursday at 10:00 a.m. or phone the office for assistance.
If you are still not comfortable attending mass in person, that’s okay too! Please know that Fr. Paul and the staff at Holy Redeemer want to continue to support you during this difficult time. Until further notice, we will continue to offer ‘drive thru communion’ every second and fourth Sunday of the month however, it will run from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. to ensure the parking lot will be cleared from the 11am mass. Please register through our website (under ‘our parish’ and ‘communion in the parking lot’) or phone Jennifer in the office for assistance
-when you register via flocknote for your timeslot you are registering your vehicle only, NOT the number of people inside.
-At this time we will only be able to give communion to people physically inside the car, unfortunately we are unable to give communion to you in a pyx.
-Do NOT exit your car at any time.
-You must be in a vehicle – no walk-ins
-In case of inclement weather (snowstorm, torrential rain, plague of locusts…) communion in the parking lot will be cancelled. It is of utmost importance that our parishioners, volunteers and clergy are safe at all times.
How will this work?
1) Signup for a 10 minute ‘slot’ on flocknote (need help? Please phone the office: (613) 836-1764)
2) Watch Sunday mass via live-stream on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. or Sunday at 8:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m.
3) Arrive during your selected timeslot. Come into the south entrance of the main parking lot (the closest entrance to the community mailbox). You will be directed when it is your turn to pull ahead and receive communion. After everyone in your vehicle has received communion, you will be directed to exit the parking lot to make space for the next car.
This is available only because of the hard work of our clergy and the Holy Redeemer volunteers who have generously offered to direct vehicles in the parking lot. Please listen to their directions at all times.
